Five Tips For A Winter Mantel

I'm as obsessed with my mantel as a teenage girl is with her hair. I stare at it for hours, play with different styles, and love to find it's reflection in shiny things. Here are my tips for a wintery mantel worth staring at.
Start with a statement piece. This old window stays up year round.
Add some texture and warmth with wicker, old wood and pine cones.
Next up add some shiny, using mercury glass, galvanized metal, and glitter. Always add glitter. We need sparkle in the dark winter.
Lastly, a fun graphic punch adds a lighthearted touch to a long cold winter. I went with a big snowflake and a felt snowball garden. Have fun with it!
