Chair Refinishing

I was asked to refinish and re-upholster this chair. It also needed repair.
It originally had a bunch of dings and bangs along with a split in the frame.
The upholstery had a lot of old glue jobs.
So I removed all of the upholstery and set up to repair the split with wood filler mixed with glue and stain.
Once it set and dried, I took the chair apart to sand all of the curves well.
After sanding out all of the old finish and dings, I stained and clear coated the chair frame.
I used pvc clothesline for the trim instead of welting.
And attached with staples and small nails.
The chair became new again.

Jeanette S on Feb 01, 2015Excellent job! A piece such as this is well worth the time you took to make it like new. And it is a style that needed to be kept natural wood.
