How I Found My Paint Color Inspiration

Help! I'm drowning in paint color samples. Permission from our landlord to do some painting around the house combined with my nesting tendencies right now has made paint colors take over. I have small paint chips, large paint chips and homemade paint chips (paint samples on poster board) in just about every room in my house right now. My original plan was to go with gray. Gray is the new white you know (so they say!) However, after overwhelming myself with colors I had to get back to the basics. I took a quick trip over to my Pinterest boards to get back to my inspirations pics.
After trying about a dozen different shades of gray and greige, I did a quick check of my favorite rooms that I've pinned to my Pinterest boards. Guess what just about every room color is? White! Truth be told, I've never used a mostly white color palette in my home before. But I think this time, I'm going to go for it. Here are a few of the pics that are really inspiring me to go all white!
I mean come on, this kitchen had me at hello. White is timeless and classic and won't go out of style!
While I love a vintage vibe in a home, I find myself adding more Mid Century Modern Design elements in my spaces. It think it keeps everything looking fresh and updated and not too country.
I love the beachy feel of this hallway. It looks so light and airy and it's the perfect backdrop to add color with accessories.
My final decision! Benjamin Moore White Dove! Hope you will stop by Chic California to see the progress on my painting!

Sue P. on Feb 04, 2015Those are beautiful inspiration rooms. I love white kitchens. We too are about to do some painting in our kitchen and had found Revere Pewter (Benjamin Moore) on Pinterest and it looked perfect for our needs -- a pale gray that would complement our countertops, cabinets and floor. I went to the paint store to get a sample and on the color chip it looked almost like a pale green! I ended up bringing home several other gray color cards to find a better match.
