What can you make with an arm load of dollar store silk flowers?
A huge flower banner for spring!
Fun project for the kiddos too. They can pull the flowers apart...kind of like pulling heads off dolls.
Living in a dark brown cabin, it's hard to get a lot of color on the porch for spring. This spring flower banner does the trick. Plus it's easy to do.

Living in a dark brown cabin, it's hard to get a lot of color on the porch for spring. This spring flower banner does the trick. Plus it's easy to do.
First I completely deconstructed the flowers. Tossing the wire stems.
As I destroyed the flowers, I tossed them in piles. Large, medium and small flowers. Leaves, and those strange plastic pieces that hold the flowers together.
Using the large flowers first, I laid them out and hot glue each flower in at least three places. Then filling in with medium flowers. Lastly adding the small flowers. I hot glued twine along the top flowers to hang. Sounds like a ton of work, but I was finished in just over an hour.
I had to hang it on white shutter first...just to see the look. Our next house will be white.
Now it's hanging in place over our front door.
See!! I needed a ton of color to even notice from the street. Makes a unique skirt too!!! Okay, maybe not!
Enjoyed the project?

Country Design Style-Jeanette on Apr 07, 2015@Nikki Gwin Yes, I just glued them to each other. We have a glass front door and I wanted to see flowers from the inside too.

Country Design Style-Jeanette on Aug 04, 2016I used about 18 bunches of dollar store flowers. This is about 3 1/2 feet wide and in places about 2 feet long.
