Say You Like the Before Better. I Dare You.

This had been stored in someones garage for many years. After I rescued it, It sat for many months. But now it has been refinished and is ready for many more years of use.
This is the only before picture I could find. These are the two drawers that were saved. The third drawer had been shoved so far into the dresser it had to be cut out with all the swelling over the years. The top and bottom front both had peeling veneer sticking out in all kinds of angles that had to be removed. Still yet, she was pretty.
After all the veneer and drawers were removed, she was sanded down smooth on the top and just roughly everywhere else. Just enough to grab some fresh stain.
My husband made some shelves to replace the drawers and I gave her a fresh coat of red paint all over the inside.
Blankets? Books? Knick-knacks? Who knows, but she is ready to be loved again.
Isn't that wood gorgeous? This was one piece that did not beg to be painted all over. I'm still able to enjoy the gorgeous wood and update the piece all at the same time. Next I'll be tackling a waterfall vanity that IS begging for paint all over.
