This old hutch has seen better days but I used Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint to give it a makeover.
This hutch is now a gorgeous potting bench with unique accessories.
I painted the hutch with milk paint and the chipping began as soon as the second coat was drying. The milk paint bubbles up and creates a vintage, chippy worn look.
Using fine sand paper I gave the hutch a quick sanding to remove any loose paint and to distress the places on the hutch that would look worn by time.
A matte sealer should be added to protect the finish and to keep the piece from further chipping and peeling.
I added a simple towel bar with drapery clips to hold seed packages that are ready for planting.
A galvanized steel seed and tool bin is attached to the hutch to create a place to hold garden tools and accessories.
This hutch came out beautiful and is perfect as a garden table for a sun porch or covered deck.
See all the details and the sealer I used to stop the paint from chipping and give the piece a beautiful matte finish at Homeroad http://www.homeroad.net/2015/06/chippy-white-milk-painted-potting-bench.html.

I have a kitchen Sink cabinet that the back is broken on, I think that with a little innovation, I can do something very similar with it! Thanks for the great idea!
