My Kitchen Bay Window Makeover

This is about a long neglected dark and dreary window that I painted white against the suggestions of everyone because it matched the cherry cabinets. I love it white.
It was such a dark kitchen before I painted the window white. I had so much angst over this since the window was stained to match the cabinets, but finally decided to go for it and I'm glad.
This is the color it was before.... drab, dark.
I used a little rotary sander - I love that thing - to sand down the stains and stuff. I covered the window with plastic so that there wouldn't be dust all over the kitchen.
I cut strips of fabric with my rotary cutter about 2 1/2 inches wide to make a fun "curtain" for the NEW kitchen window.
I hung the strips one by one on the spring tension rod.
Until it looked like this.
Ta da~~ Now if I could work up the nerve to paint the cabinets white...

I love this idea. Love the white window and your tile backsplash! By the way - PAINT those cabinets! Mine were builder installed boring and when I had my kitchen painted red, I did black and white Buffalo check backsplash and painted the cabinets white with black knobs. It’s amazing!
