My Mom's Old 1950's Kitchen Stool

Mom had this kitchen stool that sat by the sink and she would hang her wet dishtowels on it after dinner dishes were done. On the bottom step she put the bags of potatoes and onions and there was always a place for a grandchild to sit and watch her in the kitchen.
It was in poor shape when I used it to stand on and paint some of my projects.
The cover on the step was cracked and had paint drips. I am a messy painter.
The seat wasn't much better but it was removable.
Side pic of some of the paint spots I had accidentally put on.
I used an old car mat and drew around it and cut out a new step cover.
Cleaned up pretty well, so far. Another project in background in the same brown paint.
New seat paint. The seat popped out and I was able to spray paint it with Krylon white satin.
Step looks new now and the E6000 glue is holding it just fine.
I sent the pic to my brother and he couldn't believe how nicely it looks now. Mom would have like it.
My bookcase post had the chair in it just to show it can look nice in the dining room also.

Thank you for posting this! I have one in the same sad shape and hate to have to keep it hidden, I'm so glad that I can fix it up now!
