I had a small spool around and wanted a small table or my deck. This project does not take long and I had all the supplies on hand.
Taking the spool apart is pretty easy. After you do this cut the rounds in half. Paint or stain to your preference.
After the paint/stain is dry, add rope with Surebonder wood glue sticks to one side of each slat except for the last one add rope to both sides.
Put it back together, an extra pair of hands is helpful at this point. Dry fit it to make sure it fits ok. I glued it again on the backside just for added strength.
And there you have it. The best part is out of one spool you have two pieces to use!
