An Easy Way to Frame a Bathroom Mirror

After I painted our tiny guest bathroom it still seemed like it needed something, so we decided to make a frame for the mirror. After watching a few YouTube videos about how to frame a bathroom mirror, we set off the the home store to pick up supplies. This turned out to be my very favorite part of the bathroom. And you won’t believe how EASY it was!

Here’s what it looked like when we started. It’s actually the 1970s original! Complete with those clear plastic clips.

Bikeman did a little online research and found several home owners who replaced those clips with washers. Now the frame will lay flat on the mirror.

Just to show you that we don’t have a big workshop… This was our setup during the makeover. I pulled out my flea market pop up tent for some shade and Bikeman used my folding table for the borrowed saw.

The boards were already primed but we gave them a coat of Americana Decor Satin Enamel in pure white then cut them to fit. The thicker trim went all the way from wall to wall, a total of almost 30″.

We covered the back with a construction adhesive like Liquid Nails.

To make sure everything fit, Bikeman put up the bottom board first, then the sides, and finally the top board. My job was to do the finish caulking.

Quite a difference, right? I LOVE it!!!
