My mom recently moved to a new home and was itching to change up the bedroom. She requested a calming and peaceful retreat where she could relax after a long day. Immediately, we decided on a neutral color palette with hints of blush.

But before we got to our neutral look, we had to change up the look from the previous owner... a stenciled wall and purple accessories all throughout the master bedroom.

The first thing we did was paint the room a gorgeous gray color...Benjamin Moore's "Gray Owl."
I've used this warm gray paint in many spaces before and it works well in just about every space. Once the walls were painted, we added a king-sized upholstered bed. I love how the beige pairs with the gray paint. Absolute perfection.
When you have a king-sized bed like this, you need to go extra big with your rug. We found a 9x12 rug and it fits the room beautifully. When it comes to rugs in the bedroom, make sure it peeks out on all 3 sides of the bed. I usually start mine right in front of the nightstands.
Speaking of which, these wood nightstands add some warmth to this beige and gray space. Plus, the baskets have lots of extra storage!
Finally, a couple hints of blush! Love the blush throw at the end of the bed and a few throw pillows for some color. A little bit goes a long way.

Overall, my mom is in love with her new master bedroom oasis. And when mom is happy...I'm happy!
