How to Organize a Small Closet

BEFORE PHOTO: Here is the small closet. We did get professional shelving added to maximize this closet. This closet installation was done a while ago by a colleague of mine in the closet installation industry.

First, I pulled out all the things in the closet and laid them on the bed. Sorted them into themes like workout wear, hanging shirts, socks, undergarments, etc...

I used this sock organizer, and it fit perfectly on the shelves.

Here is what the sock organizer looked like. I used the Marie Kondo method of folding socks.

The set came with these smaller organizers. One was for bras and the other one for undergarments. I folded all the items small enough to fit.

It came with another bra organizer, but instead, I used them for scarves. I folded the scarves the width of the organizer and slid them into the sections. It worked nicely. This bin also fits the small shelves.

Adjusting the above shelves a bit allowed it to fit nicely, and when I pulled it out, the bins didn't fall.

I then folded the clothing to the width of the fabric bin and added them standing up so I could see everything easily. This bin was for Sweatpants. These bins also perfectly fit the small shelves to the right of the closet. I then added the clothing to the two other bins that came in the set of three.

And lastly, this large storage bag with a clear front held all my memorabilia. It fit nicely on the top shelf. I plan on using it for some other closets in my home. There are two more in this pack.

And here is what the closet looked like after the transformation was finished. I used felt hangers so I could fit more hanging items into the small closet.
