I am trying to sell my old furniture. It's cheap particle board stuff, so I decided to shabby chic it with a chalk paint upgrade. The hardware looked terrible, nasty brass. So I decided to chalk paint that as well. Everything gets a nice coat of different waxes. I'll give you step by step in my photos.
here's the before on the tall boy
before on the long dresser
before on the mirror
my materials- along with brushes, & some white latex paint I had on hand that i turned into chalk paint. The black paint & clear wax was used on the hardware. white paint, white & silver wax was used on the furniture.
tape off, remove all hardware & get down to business!
hardware is done & drying
here is the finished project, all waxed & hardware back in place.
I used the silver to accent all the detail work, the white on the majority of the piece to seal it.
This only took me 2 days, with drying time. it's an easy project, just a lot of labor & rather messy!

* note- I state this project costs nothing, since I had everything on hand. If you were to do this project yourself it would cost between $25 & $40. It would depend if you needed to buy brushes, & your own white paint to make your chalk paint or if you buy some premade. This project does take a large quantity of paint to complete, i'd say at least a pint. I mixed up mine in an old quart ice cream container & half was gone, when it started out full.
