Spray Paint and Annie Sloan Waxes for a New Look on a Little Chest.

This project for the dining room, on a burgundy colored bombe chest was a total experiment. I wanted a silver luxe look without too much gloss and I wanted to make this project simple by using spray paint. So on went my thinking cap and this is what I came up with. Using spray paint with Annie Sloan waxes.
The wax knocked down the sheen.
Who knew using wax with spray paint would turn out exactly as I envisioned it??

I know this is an old post but I'm hoping someone will respond. If you apply was as the finish, how often do you have to re-apply? Would one be better off the apply a polyurethane finish instead? Thanks

So you can use the Annie Sloan dark wax on top of spray paint, right? I have a shower stall that had a brass frame and I just sprayed it with a bronze colored spray paint that had a primer in it. I want to brown it up a bit more with the Annie Sloan dark wax. Do you think it will work, or will I have to paint the spray paint over with Annie Sloan black chalk paint first to give the wax something to adhere to?
