This project for the dining room, on a burgundy colored bombe chest was a total experiment. I wanted a silver luxe look without too much gloss and I wanted to make this project simple by using spray paint. So on went my thinking cap and this is what I came up with. Using spray paint with Annie Sloan waxes.

Sonia Burrows on Aug 28, 2015I know this is an old post but I'm hoping someone will respond. If you apply was as the finish, how often do you have to re-apply? Would one be better off the apply a polyurethane finish instead? Thanks

So you can use the Annie Sloan dark wax on top of spray paint, right? I have a shower stall that had a brass frame and I just sprayed it with a bronze colored spray paint that had a primer in it. I want to brown it up a bit more with the Annie Sloan dark wax. Do you think it will work, or will I have to paint the spray paint over with Annie Sloan black chalk paint first to give the wax something to adhere to?
