Problem Solved

Some of you will remember the problem I had with my end tables being too low to be useable beside my new couch. After plenty of helpful advice which I very much appreciated, I formed a plan. The drop was 9 inches from table top to top of couch arm.
So I bought wood, and had two pieces cut to give an inch all the way around the table legs, forming a platform to set the table on. My original plan was to screw it up thru the bottom into each leg but you can imagine the problems I could have gotten into there with just one crooked screw. So the table just sits on the platform and believe me those tables aren't going anywhere, they are so heavy.
We cut a 4 x 4 in 6" lengths and screwed to the bottom for legs. Good and solid. Then I painted the whole thing with a Ralph Lauren black, let it dry and peeled it off because I forgot to prime. Primed and re painted, here it is.
I painted parts of the table and re sprayed and played with the handles which I'm not really happy with but will do for now. The tables are a perfect height now and they look great off the platform too if I ever decide to get rid of them.
Might not work for everybody, but works for me. :)

Kirsten Veneziano on Dec 01, 2014Lori, it looks great. I really like how you coordinated everything with the paint. Thanks for showing me the results of my suggestion.
