My search for a double bed with lots of storage to accommodate two growing girls and their toys, books etc was proving to be futile. The cost of a single kids bed with some storage was way beyond my budget . So off we went, D/F and myself to get a bunch of cabinets, we also used things and bits from an old toddler bed.
Double-bed With Storage and a Hiding Nook
3 Materials
$600
3 Days
Medium
We began creating the bed on our own! First, we got the cabinets aligned to size and shape we wanted. Keeping in mind proximity to desks ( project no 1) and walk way and the window.
Measured twice, cut once. It's coming along pretty nicely.
Used parts of an old toddler bed for the footboard and safety rails along the side.
we used the wall on one side for safety and turned the little dresser inwards so it can be accessed from under the mattress and also from the "hiding spot".
TA DAAA! A double bed with storage and a secret hiding spot. Made from old cabinets and plywood! I'm happy with how it came out, hope you feel inspired!

LOVE IT!! It really looks great! You utilized all the space and it doesn't look crowded. Does she love it?-
