Make an Easy Pencil Holder With Rulers

Seriously! It is back to school time already! The kids will be going to back to school next week. I can't believe summer went by so fast! With back to school time, we also need to come up with gifts for teachers. I always have lots of scrap wood. So we decided to make a few pencil holders.

I used scrap 1"x6" pieces to make these. You can get all the details and dimensions to make these from my website.

Basically, they are attached with countersunk wood screws and wood glue. You can nail them too.

I made the bottom using scrap pieces of hardboard I had left from a previous project. 1/4" plywood would work great too!

Now for the fun part! I bought lots of rulers and cut them up to size and glued them to each side of the pencil holder. It looked really cute!

Before giving it to the teacher, we added a ribbon and pencils to it!

It looks really awesome! I am sure any teacher would love to have it on their desk!
