OMG! I love, love, love my sparkly diamond napkin ring diy!

They look so pretty. And the bling!! Wow!

Sometimes you have a vision in your head, but you just can’t find anything in the stores that match your vision. Not even remotely.

Which is SO frustrating!

But then you realize that you can make your vision and create it yourself.

Yep, that’s how my diamond napkin rings came to fruition.

I had a vision of sparkly gold napkin rings that had a large crystal of fake diamond. But I couldn’t find anything that resembled what I envisioned.

So my diy diamond bling napkin rings were born.

And you know what? They are super easy to make!

Check it out…

DIY Diamond Napkin Ring Supplies

  • 3/4″ PVC couplings
  • Gold spray paint
  • Medium grit sandpaper
  • Drill
  • Fake diamonds
  • E6000 glue

How to Make Diamond Bling Napkin Rings

Step 1

You can find PVC couplings at your local hardware store. They come in packs of 25, or you can buy them individually.

They will most likely have raised letters or numbers on the ends that you will want to remove.

Using medium grit sandpaper, sand down the letters until they are smooth.

before and after

Step 2

To create the hole for the tip of the diamond to sit in, measure, and mark the center of the PVC coupling.

Then using a drill make a small hole where you marked the center of the coupling. You want to start with a small hole and progressively make it larger with bigger drill bits.

Since you are drilling through thick plastic, it will be easier to start off small. I found it too hard to immediately make a large hole.

*You might need to use a vice grip or something else to hold the coupling in place as you drill.

Just make sure you don’t go all the way through to the other side of the coupling.

Step 3

Time to spray paint.

Be sure and prep your area for spray painting by laying down newspaper or a drop cloth, and doing it outside or in a well-ventilated space.

*Tip: To prevent the PVC coupling from sticking to the newspaper or drop cloth, sit them on paint sticks. I figured this out the hard way (grr).

Spray paint the couplings gold. It will take a few coats to ensure they are completely covered.

Step 4: Attached the Diamond to the Coupling

After the couplings are dry, it’s time to add the diamond (aka the bling!).

Using E6000, cover the bottom tip of the diamond and place it into the hole. You might need to stabilize the coupling by putting something on each side of it to prevent it from moving and rolling over. Using two painter’s sticks (one on each side) of the coupling works well.

Reposition the diamond until it is sitting straight and centered in the coupling.

Let it dry.

Now your diy diamond napkin rings are ready to use. Won’t they impress your guests!

They look sweet on your finger, too. LOL!
