Are you wanting craft suggestions or buying suggestions?
It would depend on a few things like does the child want to make something and mother's likes. In general, you can never go wrong with a Mom coffee mug filled with a treat. You could do a canvas print using the child's handprints, turned fingers down, and add the caption "Hands Down Best Mother". Over the years, my kids gave me several Mom necklaces that I cherish. But my favorite thing was going to lunch with my kids and then to the movies. Something to make it a special time spent together.

I used to teach and one of the mom favorites was always a puzzle piece frame with the child's photo inside. It can be made super simple for the littles - like a square or heart or circle or really elaborate for the older kids...you could make a flower shaped frames and attach them to make a banner. Here's the idea: https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2013/09/puzzle-piece-pumpkin.html
or the banner...but you could make it with photo frames : https://www.exquisitelyunremarkable.com/2014/01/puzzle-piece-love-garland.html
Hi Lou: Well, what I got from my kids one Mother's Day was the cheapest, sweetest thing ever. What it was was the kids each got a piece of typing paper, had it cut into 8 pieces, and then wrote on each piece what they promised to do the first time they were asked without argument. Like take out the trash, wash dishes, dust the tables, vacuum, mow the lawn, pick up their toys, stop fighting, arguing, etc. They were all at the children's level, the little ones picking up their toys, going to bed without pouting, eating all their vegetables, and the other chores for the older kids. The pages had holes punched in one side and tied with ribbon. And, the pages were decorated with drawings and had a place to indicate when the chore was accomplished, and dated. I still have them with some unused pages, which I still plan on using, even though my kids are in their mid-adult ages:) I just loved getting this as it was from their hearts as to what they promised to do, and the art work is great, too :)
Good luck
