If you need some easy ways to dress up plain glass ornaments for your tree, this is for you! These ornaments can be made in very little time with only a few supplies.

Making ornaments using decorative tape, ribbon, and some party supplies is a quick and easy way to get some matching ornaments that will keep the cost very low. The tutorial is very simple.

  • Remove the metal cap from the ornament
  • Make sure that the ornaments are dust free by using a lint free cloth to wipe them off
  • Select one of the patterns you have of decorative tape
  • Decide on the placement of the tape and arrange it on the ornament
  • Replace cap
  • Cut a piece of ribbon and tie it into a bow around the cap

For another ornament, I added Poly-fil to the inside of the ornament and then followed the same steps as above. I used a wood skewer to push the Poly-fil into the ornament.

I had some birthday party supplies left over from a couple of years ago that are rose gold. I cut them into small strips and added them to the inside of the ornaments. You could also use ribbon for this.

Another ornament has craft snow added to the bottom and then narrow decorative tape on the outside.

If you’re looking for an easy and inexpensive way to add some ornaments to your tree, this is it! I had everything I needed on hand to make these. No new money spent for craft projects is always a win!

Even if you're buying the supplies to make these, you can find glass or plastic ornaments that aren't expensive. Inexpensive decorative tape is often in the Dollar Spot at Target or the bins near the check out at Michaels.

Checking your own crafts stash is a great way to find items you can use for these, too.
