The Perfect DIY Fall Garland for Your Front Door

It’s almost fall, and that means it’s time to start decorating your home for the season.

One easy way to do this is by hanging a garland on your front door.

Today, I’m going to show you how to make a DIY fall garland using items you probably already have around the house.

What Do You Need to Make A Fall Garland?

Get into the autumn spirit with this easy and festive DIY garland for your front door.

You will need adhesive hooks like command hooks, chicken wire, faux pumpkins, floral picks, greenery picks, green garland, fall leaves floral picks.

Step One: Add adhesive hooks to the door frame. I put mine on several days before I started the garland, to make sure that the hooks were good and strong before I added anything to them. I used these hooks.

Step Two: Next, I used my wire nippers to cut the chicken wire to the length that I needed. I cut my wire 80″ long by 24″ wide for the two sides. Your measurement across the top of your front door will vary from mine.

PRO TIP: Be sure to wear work gloves when cutting chicken wire. It can really cut up your hands.

Step Three: Curl the chicken wire in, tucking the ends to the back.

Step Four: Hang the chicken wire on the hooks.

Step Seven: Then I added the pumpkin picks.

Isn’t it starting to look amazing?

Step Eight: Now, I get to add all of the fun stuff, the flowers and the leaves. I used two of these floral bouquets. I used one of these sunflower bouquets. I used 4 of these mixed bouquets, they come in a pack of two.

I cut up all of the floral picks and put them into three piles.

One pile for the top of the door. This pile didn’t need as much, because it was a shorter length.

One pile for each side of the door. I tried to keep these piles as similar as possible so that my garland would look balanced.
