How to Craft an Autumnal Sunflower Door Hanger That Lights Up
Who doesn't love a nice sunflower door hanger at the entrance of their home for fall? With fall around the corner, I thought I would put together an autumnal sunflower piece to decorate the entrance of my friend's house.
To make it a little more interesting, I attached all the floral elements to a LED-lit branch. This project can be done super cheap with most flowers and attachments being purchased from the dollar store.
Tools and materials:
- Variety of fall foliage
- LED lit branch
- Scissors
- Floral wire
- Floral tape
- Door hanger
1. Attach the flowers to the LED branch
Pull apart your flowers and attach them to the LED branch. Have a little fun arranging your flowers and work at it until you get a look you really love.
2. Add filter
Make sure to add in any filler to cover up the bald spots. This is a great place to add any fake trailing plants you might have grabbed.
3. Cluster the sunflowers
You're going to need 3 clusters in total for this look. For the top cluster, I used 7-8 sunflowers, for the middle cluster I used 4-5 and for the bottom one I used 3.
DIY sunflower door hanger
Because all of the flowers are simply twisted or taped to the branch you can remove them and switch them out with spring/winter-themed items as well and change it up each season!
