This Easter Egg cage wreath is so easy to make. I'm using two 14.25" wire wreaths from Dollar Tree and twelve 3-inch plastic eggs.

Note: I used plastic Easter eggs. You will see a seam if you use plastic eggs. This didn't bother me but feel free to use wood or Plaster of Paris eggs if you prefer a more seamless look.

Check out the steps and video below to learn how to make this fun spring wreath.

How to Make a Farmhouse-Style Easter Egg Wreath

Start by mixing white chalk paint with a few drops of acrylic paint to make custom pastel colors to paint your eggs.

I'm using three colors: Laguna, Real Red, and Lite Mocha. Feel free to paint your eggs colors that best match your decor.

I separated my eggs to make them easier to paint.

If you'd like to speckle your eggs, use an old toothbrush to flick brown paint onto them. I added a little water to brown acrylic paint to make a wash. This made it easier to flick paint off of the toothbrush.

To save time, I speckled my eggs as separate halves (shown above). The speckles do not line up perfectly. Assemble your eggs and speckle one side at a time if you like.

How to Assemble The Wreath

Put all twelve eggs back together. If your plastic eggs pop open easily you may want to glue them together.

Add Spanish moss to the inside of one of the wreath rings and place the eggs on top.

Top with the second wreath ring and use wire to connect both rings (shown above). Secure with wire on four sides... top, bottom, left, and right.

Here's another view of the finished wreath!

Decorate your wreath any way you like. I later added a bow to mine -- but honestly, this wreath looks great with or without one.
