Here is a project that costs zero dollars and allows you to upcycle old wood that is laying around your home! Wooden pumpkins from scrap wood!

We recently replace our outdoor deck on our home. There was a ton of lumber from the demolition. I grabbed a few 4 x 4's and decided to make some fall pumpkins!

I cut the wood to different sizes for a nice variety of pumpkins. I trimmed some of the edges off of some of the pumpkins to make them more round in shape. But some I left square, as you will see in the final photos.

As with any project using cut wood, be sure to sand all of the edges to avoid injury from splinters.

I selected a variety of paint colors. I used acrylic, latex, and chalk paint. Basically, any paint will do!

Have fun with the paint. I made several sets of these pumpkins since I could not decide on one color.

I found some branches and twigs in my yard and cut them to make stems for my pumpkins. A little hot glue and they were ready to go.

Orange pumpkins!

Purple pumpkins!

White pumpkins!

Rainbow pumpkins!
