This no-carve pumpkin craft was inspired by a trip to SeaWorld Orlando. At Halloween time at SeaWorld they have these great big fish pumpkins on display. I decided to make a miniature version of them with small plastic gourds and polymer clay. These cute fish can be kept year after year and put on display.

Supplies for Pumpkin Fish
  • Small foam pumpkins and gourds
  • Fimo clay in white and other colors of your choice
  • Acrylic craft paint
  • Black permanent marker
  • Super glue

Take the polymer clay an make it into the shape of fins. Use other colors of clay to make the lips and eyes. Bake them on an old cookie sheet according to the instructions on the clay packaging. Let cool completely.

Once the clay pieces are cooled you can glue them onto the pumpkins with E-6000 glue, super glue or a hot glue gun. Attach the eyes, mouth and fins to each pumpkin.

Once the glue has completely set you can make your pumpkins come to life by adding irises and pupils to the eyes as well as extra color to the fins. Use a permanent marker or acrylic paint to decorate the pumpkins.

When they are finished place them on display for everyone to admire.
