Supposedly a crock pot and soap will do the trick!
This article explains how to use a crockpot and soap: https://homeguides.sfgate.com/remove-old-paint-brass-door-hardware-31110.html
This video shows how to remove the paint with hot water and baking soda: https://youtu.be/_GeOUAOjJPw
You could also use hot water and white vinegar: http://blackhawkhardware.com/how-remove-paint-from-brass-fixtures/
Yep I've heard of the crock pot method as well. Long and slow just let it soak and the old paint should come right off. If taking the hardware off and soaking though is not an option I would try paint stripper.
soak in paint stripper overnight.
If you can remove them, soak on low heat in vinegar in a crock pot. You will have to dispose of the pot afterwards.

I've gotten paint off handles with baking soda. You can see how I did it here: https://www.flippingtheflip.com/2015/05/where-are-you-so-its-mini-variety-pack.html
Hello Brenda,
Try a chemical Gel paint remover. That should do it.
The easiest way I know is to boil them in a pot with baking soda. Let sit for a few hours and the paint will come right off.
You need to remove them and soak them in paint remover. Then I use Brasso to clean up the brass.
