Hello everyone! I decided to post some more of my leather crafting. I decided to make a leather mandolin strap for my husband. Hope you like it.
I didn't get a picture of the belt blank before I started working on it... but you can imagine!
I made this belt is for my husband. He plays the mandolin and the strap on it wouldn't stay on and he asked me to make him a nice new one. This is what he picked out. The edges were sharp and square from being blunt cut at the factory. I used a tool and cut the edges off then another tool to smooth the edges so it won't cut into his shoulder while playing.
Here it is stained and drying . Before it is sealed and polished.
Here is the complete look when I finished putting the seal on and polishing it. Now my husband doesn't have to worry about the strap falling off as he is playing. I love it and so does he! Enjoy :)
