A True Tourist Trap: City Tour Guide Disguised as Guest Room Decor

Never have to answer "so what should we do in this area?" again! I'm not much of a scrapbooker but like keeping event memories, so I found a way to turn our brochures and ticket stubs into an AirBnB worthy wall.
Other rooms in the house have a pretty simple color pallet, so our guest room is home to alllll the colors! It's also my craft and music room where I store the where-do-i-display-this-Ecuadorian-vase type pieces, so you'll notice themes of international travel, music, wood furniture, and pops of color. The bedspread is meant to mimic the black lines on a record, and the twine strings in this project are a call-out to guitar strings.
My grandfather was a retired minister, and when his old church tore down the organ he loved he salvaged every pipe he could. Now all the grandkids have a couple to use as shelves and decoration. Since my pipe here was small, I needed more than a shelf! Started by mounting the back of the organ pipe with tiny nails and hanging brackets.
Next, tied twine around the pipe (nothin fancy, I couldn't bear to drill holes in it) and added a felt furniture foot pad so it wouldn't bang or rest with the corner against my wall.
When the twine pieces were even, I used buttons off an old peacoat I loved to tie off the ends- same color wood as the pipe.
Lastly, added some ticket stubs, brochures, and a pic of my dad and me in Boston hats (couldn't resist).
Now when people come visit and go somewhere unique, we make sure they add a pic, brochure, or business card to the wall! So far we have quite a collection, from Red Sox games to John Adams' estate to Whale Watching. And Mike's Pastry of course. So, when ya coming?
