We love to play games, especially around Christmas time when it's chilly outside. My Mom saw a fun oversized Tic Tac Toe game in a hotel lobby, sitting on an ottoman for the patrons to play while waiting. She wanted me to make her a set. When I started making it, I thought it would be so fun to do a Christmas version of Tic Tac Toe! Trees and Presents
Although you can buy all of the materials for this project at the hardware store, this is a great project to dig through the scrap wood pile for. I always feel good when I can use up some of those short and seemingly useless wood cut offs.
This game is simple to make using a 4x4, 1x3 and plywood. The game pieces are cubes cut from the 4x4. The game tray is basically a shadow box.
I stained the game tray and blocks with General Finishes nutmeg.
See blog post link for the rest of the tutorial.
