Disguise an Ugly Pipe

I had an ugly pipe on my basement wall. It was for the air conditioner. Why they put it there when they built the house, I don't know. It was right at the bottom of my basement stairs, and an ugly eyesore every time I came down the stairs.

Finally someone challenged me to disguise it. So this is what I came up with!

First, I added a bright neon green pool noodle.

Then I used green pipe cleaners to tie on some sparkly metallic green deco mesh. Do you see where I'm going with this? It's sort of like a wreath-- a straight wreath, not a round one....

Then I added a coordinating bow at the bottom, and some flower shower hooks. Isn't it pretty, now?

No more ugly pipe!!

Did you ever have an ugly pipe in a weird place and wish you could hide it? Would you try my idea, or do you have another idea? I would love to know.

p.s. We have since replaced our air conditioner, and now the pipe runs through our finished basement ceiling. But my decorated pipe was there for several years!
