Hi Hometalk! Valentine's Day is sure coming and when you say "Valentine's" it's the perfect season for crafting DIYs! For me, not only do I love DIY decorations but I also love that they are useful!

If you are feeling festive for the coming holiday, I have an easy and budget-friendly DIY Candle Holder that will surely fill your home with a heartwarming and romantic mood.

I've got these very old chairs. If you don't have these kinds of chairs that have curvy legs, you can easily find them on Craiglist or any thrift stores or garage sales.

I've cut the curvy chair legs to use them as our pillar candle holder but if you think that the remaining parts of the chair will go directly to the trash, hold that thought! Stay tuned for the Second Part of this Salvaged Chair Upcycling! icon

I started by cleaning these legs with water and vinegar, you can use any furniture cleaner you want like TSP. I cut some of the legs to have them in different sizes.

I added wooden fence caps and 4" plant saucers. I glued them together using contact cement glue. This gives our chair legs and the base for the candle a stronger bond compared to using other adhesives.

Once assembled, they are primed with a stain-blocking primer-sealer and painted with soft white with a slight gray undertone.

For the candle ring, I used clear plastic container tops and turned them upside down.

To decorate the candle rings, I used dollar florals and added some greenery. I also added a few real rosebuds.

Once finished, I was stunned by the results! Who would've thought that these basic items can turn old chair legs into lovely candle holders? Also, I love the idea that these candle holders can be decorated for any occasion, it is so versatile that you can easily swap the style of your candle ring!

Here's another look at its before and after! Did it spark some idea for your Valentine Decor? I hope it inspired you to make adorable and lovely projects this season of romance!
