Don't know what to do with your pictures? Here's an IDEA!!

We want to help you DIY, so some of the materials in this post are linked to sellers. Just so you know, Hometalk may collect a small share of sales from the links on this page.
To start off I painted my dowel black and set it aside to dry. I then made my square and triangle out of the poster board. My poster board cutters aren’t as strong as cookie cutters. I only used them to mark the approximate shape to go over with my knife. (VIDEO DOWN BELOW)
I then rolled out my clay to the perfect thickness and marked my shapes with my poster board forms. I used a knife to cut my shapes and added texture with a fork. YEP a fork!! lol icon Whatever gets the job done.
I then hung up my dowel with my string and hot glued my photos on it. Following that I beaded my clay beads and some wood beads in between finishing the ends off with tassels.
And this is what I got!! icon Couldn't be happier. It hangs in my bedroom next to my night stand. icon
I love the wood beads and tassels.
There's that texture I made with a fork. icon

How do you keep the photos from curling on edges?

Awesome job, love it. Here is a idea.. In grade school my daughter did a craft using cinnamon and clay to make ornaments for Christmas. Not sure how to make these scented clay ornaments but it was kinda cool. I wonder if you could use oils / spices in the clay.?

So creative! I’m currently going through my photos. What a great alternative to albums and if you have a pattern on the back you could always flip it over for a maybe a seasonal change or decor change. Or as a memorial to a loved one.
