Make DIY flower pot out of concrete yourself

Concrete is a great creative material that you can use for a wide variety of do-it-yourself projects. Today I’ll show you how you can make a concrete flower pot yourself. It’s easier than you think!

Make concrete flower pots yourself – material list:
  • Concrete
  • Foam rubber
  • liquid craft glue
  • Heart punch
  • scissors
  • 2 different sized paper cups
  • fine sandpaper

Make a concrete flower pot yourself – Easy DIY instructions:

In the first step you need the hearts made of foam rubber, here you can use a punch in the shape of a heart or you can cut your own heart motif from the foam rubber. Glue the foam rubber hearts to the inside of the paper cup and let the glue dry well so the hearts don’t slip.

Now it is time to mix the concrete. For the self-made flower pot, I poured a 1.5 cm thick base with concrete. After that, I waited a bit for the concrete to harden – it really works pretty quickly. Now I have positioned the smaller paper cup in the middle and weighed it down. You can use stones or change to weigh down the mug, for example – for me it was a glass filled with sand.

Now you fill the space between the two cups with the liquid concrete. Follow the concrete manufacturer’s instructions for the curing time.

Fold the cup in half and pull it out. You can simply tear open the outer cup. With a fine sandpaper, the contours of the new concrete flower pot haven’t been smoothed a little. Here you can use simple sandpaper for wood.

Your DIY concrete plant pot is ready.

Now you can plant your new concrete flower pot and give it away, for example. Since I regularly run out of planters, I already have a colorful selection for homemade flower pots from my blog for you.
