Neighbourly Gifts
A neighbour was throwing out this old table top from her disused garden set. It was a huge piece of tempered glass, so I gratefully received it from her.
I washed it down with sugar soap. Then roughly sketched out a design.
I used tile adhesive and tiles I'don't salvaged from a skip. I also had some pretty ones in my shed.
They say patience is a virtue. This project certainly needed a lot of it. I found that if I did some daily it began to grow.
I grouted the finished project with grey grout. Black would have been too dark and as this was to be an outside piece I thought white would get too messy. The grey suited the tiles best. It seats six people and is beautiful when the sun shines on it.
