I love the picture frames with quotes on them, unfortunately I don't like the price of most or sometimes the quote isn't what I want on the frame. So I decided to create my own.
It began with this photo of my 102 year old grandma, my mom and my aunt that was taken this past summer. My gram grew up on an island on a lake and spent her childhood there. Thru the years she has spoken fondly of this place and her wish to return some day, so we made it happen. On a warm sunny day 4 generations and a couple of boats made the trip to her homestead for a memorable day!
I took my print to Walmart 1hour photo and got it enlarged to an 8x10 black and white. Then it was off to Michaels where frames were on sale. I purchased an 11x14 with a wide frame that had a mat for an 8x10 print. I found the quote I liked on the internet.
Using a pencil I wrote the quote on the picture frame, then went over it with a chalk marker. I used the chalk marker because it can be washed off if you make a mistake.
Here it is finished. This is going to my sister for Christmas. You don't have to have perfect handwriting, and I plan to get my son to make one with a different picture and a quote for grandma on it.
