Added this vintage soda crate to my existing patriotic decor in my kitchen. I have two, but there was already an existing nail/screw from something previously hanging so I used it. Besides, I remember begging for even that one! Always trying to find ways to use my crates. They`re too cool not to. My kitchen has a rustic feel to it with the exposed brick, so I think they fit in. I made the little garland out of cupcake liners.
The exposed brick wall. My house was built in 1960 and that`s the original oven. And yes, it still works! Remember, `Coppertone`? Right next to that was a built-in BBQ. I guess that must have been `chic` back in-the-day, but honestly I think we only used it once or twice and now it holds the microwave.
This is the other side of the kitchen when it was decorated for Fall. Those are the original cabinets that we painted a deep green. They were regular builder-grade oak but they were in good shape, so we just gave `em a `facelift` I chose a dark green because I thought it went well with the brick and besides, I just love dark colors : )
Added a bench at the bottom : )
