When we bought our house we knew it has potential. The neighborhood is great. The house itself suffered from crazy interior paint colors, an outdated kitchen, and really, really old landscaping.
Here are a couple of photos of the old landscaping...overgrown shrubs.
River rock landscaping.
We ripped out the old shrubs added a window box under the large window (we've since added on to the other window as well). We added boxwoods, astilbe, cora bells, viburnum and a pom-pom topiary to add a little whimsy. Here's a photo from the first year.
This is a photo from year two: everything filled in nicely.
We ripped out on overgrown juniper bush and replaced it with more boxwoods and hydrangeas.
This year we lightened the paint on the shutters as well.

Melissa Miles on Sep 05, 2015Not only do I love it, I think you really increased the value of your house. It looks so much more inviting now.
