So now that the outside was finished, time to work on the insides of the cabinets. If your following me you know I've been redoing a kitchen on a small budget. You can find the refinished cabinets here; http://www.hometalk.com/diy/kitchen-dining/kitchen-dining-furniture/refinish-ugly-maple-cubboards-14068786 and the Counter top make over here: http://www.hometalk.com/diy/kitchen-dining/kitchen-dining-furniture/diy-painted-counter-tops-14068244
The insides of my now refinished maple cabinets. I know not so pretty huh? Boy has this contact paper gotten expensive, so I had a better idea...
This one is not as bad as the others but I didn't care for it either, some even had the rubber stuff down to hide the worse ones. But enough was enough time to get busy. So off to lowes I went.
I picked up these self stick tiles at lowes, for less the .40 a tile. They measure 12" x 12" each. and it took approx. 35 tiles for the ones I finished. I have not tackled the pantry yet, as I keep alot of my DIY stuff in there and didn't feel like tackling that mess yet. Here is where you can find the tiles at: http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=253218-61-A5005041&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=999948136&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1
As you can see they look alot better and I only had to trim about 1/4" off in the front. I love the way it looks so much more now. You just peel off the paper on the back and place them where you want after you have trimmed out for the framework. It cuts and bends easily, you can use a utility knife. All for less then 15 bucks. Be sure and follow me and see my other posts on this kitchen remodel on a budget. Happy DIYing everyone!
