Had picked up a storage box several years ago at a garage sale.. Wooden with Basket woven side and top inserts.. Boy was it Black..Not AnyMore!!!!
Started with just a simple checks and color, but someone mentioned it looked like a Race Track Flag.. sooo, Keep Going!!!!
I had cleaned up the brass corner pieces until they were shiny again, and decided to use a marbling technique I had learned, just fill the brush with 3 colors and dab it on, then go back with a vein color and make branches.. It turned out swell. Also drug my brush into some color and swept it through the white squares.. No more Race Track Flag !!! But by then........ i was hooked! and tried some more.
I added the gold pin stripes around the red. And now you could see the latch which had been invisible against the black of the box.. but one more touch was needed to make things go over the top!
Ta Da!!! Paper from my garage sale WallPaper book... Ohh WoW!
Just cut and spray with Adhesive Spray, then insert in openings and this box will never hide again... !!!
It had almost gone to the give away pile.. Now I think I'm in loveicon ...
