How to Make a Bird Bath From Repurposed Items, DIY Bird Bath
I went to my first garage sale last week, Yay! While most people would look at a cake pan and think cake, I think “oh that would make a cute birdbath”. You can imagine the hubby just shakes his head. Poor guy he was thinking he was going to get some cake to eat! Don’t worry he gets plenty of sweet treats.
Items I used to make this are a cake pan, this one is larger than a normal cake pan. As it came with several sizes. I can make cake with the others unless I find some other ideas to make haha. A spindle and a round base that I got at Hobby Lobby at half off.
First I painted the cake pan and the base white. I used an exterior paint so hopefully it lasts a while.
Sorry for the sun glare. I took a couple of coats to cover well also.
I predrilled a hole in the base to make it easier for the spindle to attach. And then I screwed the spindle onto the base.
I attached the cake pan by using hot glue and E6000. The hot glue so it would hold there while the E6000 went to work.
Here it is while I put something heavy on it waiting for the E6000 to dry.
And here it is all ready to serve a new purpose. I’ll put some rocks in it for the birds and butterflies to sit on while they drink.
Here is another post where I repurpose something for the garden
