Pest Control: Ants

Why Do This?
Are there ants in your pants or are they crawling around your kitchen? Wherever the ants may roam, they can be a nuisance. Get rid of ants and prevent them from coming back with these pest removal tips.
How To:

1.) Clean your home! The cleaner your house is, the less food the ants will find. They’ll be forced to search elsewhere for supper. So, wipe down all the surfaces in your kitchen regularly with an all-purpose cleaner or vinegar solution. Move all your food into air-tight containers. And, don’t forget to keep the sink clean! Dirty dishes, standing water and food in the drain all serve as sustenance for ants.

2.) Follow the trail. Follow the ant trail and spray it with an all-purpose cleaner or a mild bleach solution.

3.) Barricade your home. Seal all windows, doors and any cracks the ants crawl through with caulk using a caulking gun.

4.) Use deterrents. Line any suspected entryways with deterrent substances. Cinnamon and cucumber - especially shavings from the peel - work well in deterring ants (yes, ants hate cucumber) and won’t be harmful to kids or pets. Cornmeal also works well. Ants eat it, and after consuming water, the cornmeal swells inside their digestive organs, killing them.

5.) Set traps. If ants continue to raid your home, we recommend setting traps. You can purchase traps specific for ants online or at your nearest hardware store for less than $10.

I live near a small forest, and because of the soil, we have many ant nests there. So thank you for the tips, but I would need a more drastic solution in my situation. I was thinking about hiring a pest control company to help me with this problem. I found that the guys from https://niftypestcontrol.com.au/ offer these services. But I am not familiar with this industry, and I don't want to do something wrong. So in case, someone used the assistance of this company, please share your thoughts about it. I am curious to hear your opinions.
