2. Apply Vicks to Entry Points

Spiders often enter homes through small gaps around windows and doors. Start by identifying these potential entry points.

Using the Q-tip or a cotton swab, spread a thin layer of Vicks VapoRub along the edges of your windows and door frames.

Focus on areas where you’ve noticed spiders before.

Remember, the goal is to repel spiders, not to harm them. The strong scent of Vicks will act as a barrier, encouraging spiders to find somewhere else to explore.

3. Maintain Regular Reapplication

To ensure continuous effectiveness, reapply Vicks VapoRub weekly.

The potency of the scent will diminish over time, so a regular schedule is necessary to maintain its spider-repelling properties.

I love spiders. They are welcome in my house to eat any bugs. Black Widow is the only exception. I pick them up with a paper towel and take them to a flower bed. I had black widows (very seldom) when I had a second home in Arizona. It's just a way of life out there. As well as the coyote.

I leave them alone on the most part because they keep ants from entering the rest of the house. The spiders stay by the doors and windows to get them and protect us. Then I go along with my little Shark vacuum and get all of the dead ants and bugs and some of the 'too much' webbs. Underneath furniture also.Thank you.
