THE BIRDS ARE MOVING IN!

Every year I hang 2 baskets in the arches of my porch. Every year the birds destroy the first basket and never touch the second one...it seems this year is going to be no different!
I went out to water them just before dawn and found that it looked like the first one was wilting. I shook the basket to make sure there was no bird inside and then reached down into the center of the flowers to find that Momma Bird had already created a depression in the dirt in preparation of moving in!
It was 52 degrees when I got up, making this the perfect season to enjoy my porch! But Momma Bird makes sure we are not welcome! I don't know why I don't just clean off the porch furniture and forget trying to make it pretty. After all, it is not visible from the street...
See how tall the plants are standing up? This is the basket the birds ignore!
See how flat the plants are on top? The basket looks like the plants are wilting! No, the birds have discovered my basket!
Maybe we can enjoy sitting out here in the fall!

Place a rubber snake in pot or near pot on porch. I keep a rubber snake on my back porch to keep birds from roosting on ceiling fans. Hurry before they lay eggs.

@Lagree Wyndham I might just do that. In the time being, I put it out in the yard on a shepherds hook!

We have birds takeover our hanging pot on the porch every few years. I usually hide an obstruction in the middle so they can't get comfortable and make a nest.
