Today I woke up with the idea of giving a little twist to the painting technique I created called "Bermuda Blending ".
Using some of the same colors I always use for this technique, I decided to adding more green and more stains..
Texture and color!
So first, I made a sample..
Sample of the Twisted Bermuda Blending 👍🏼
Grabbed a piece of a door I cut not long ago and then gathered all the colors I wanted to use..

For this step I used regular flat finish latex paint and added my Pixie Dust To get the chalk finish I wanted..
All my beautiful colors looked great together!!

That's when I remembered about a product I ordered online that gives texture to your furniture, like an old vintage piece but in minutes!

Well.. Today was the day!

After reading the instructions (Very easy to follow I most say)

I added the product to my dark blue paint and covered the whole piece... But the top..
This is the B & A pictures..Hutch was removed
After about 30 minutes the paint mixed with pixie dust and the textured finish product was completely dry..
Finished piece!
It was time for more shades of blues and greens...
Once again after blending all the rest of my colors it was time to let it dry again!
After letting it dries for about 30 minutes, with the help of a sanding block of 220 grid I started distressing corners and crevices ..
Now the fun and the not so much fun part!!

For the not so much fun part... I had the challenge of the many but many layers of brown paint applied to the top of this cabinet before I got this piece that I wanted it to remove.. Applying paint remover and sanding it did the trick! But it was tough ..

The results... A cleaned and polished wooden top ready for the fun part!! 😁
Top now stained..
Using the magic of UnicornSPiT I started staining on top of the dry paint to enhanced all of my base colors...

I used UnicornSPiT Natural Stain in:

Yellow- green-turquoise and dark blue (for the top only)
Time for the top!

A coat Minwax Special Walnut stain color .. Let it dry for about ten minutes and then get your UnicornSPiT in green and dark blue and blend them with the brown you already applied (I added the UnicornSPiT in random spots on the top ).. It will give you deep shades of blues and greens that looks pretty cool!
Now that your piece is dried you will need to sealed it using your favorite sealing product, I personally like to use Polycrilyc..
Hope you guys like it!
