You just need to drill a hole in the bottom the same size as the drain hole. Use a drill bit made for glass and drill it while running water over it
Hi Jean, you'll need to use a special carbide glass drill bit to make a hole for the drainage hole. This video will show you how to do it - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_NtTBTGp20
Buy cutting a hole in the base of the bowl with a diamond tip hole saw.
Hello,
First of all it would have to be toughened glass to consider using it, otherwise it won't stand up to the heat changes etc. Otherwise just place on top of counter as with old style Jug and Basin................
Here's s link in how to drill into glass, although it is a small hole, you might be able to slowly and gradually enlarge it to the drain size. Your salad bow may be able to take the procedure very well, please wear safety goggles.

I'm not sure the salad bowl glass is durable enough - sounds a bit dangerous. It won't be tempered and could break easily.
I'd be afraid it would break.
I feel like a salad bowl wouldn't be thick or strong enough glass for it to be used as a sink.

You will need a diamond drill bit to create the holes needed for the drain area. Check at Lowes or Home Depot. You risk breaking the bowl, but it can be done!
Hi! If it were metal, I might give it a try. But, honestly how well is it going to hold up to daily use? I would prefer that type of sink be something that wouldn't be easy to damage. Stay well!
