Quick Fix for My Front Door
We bought our retirement home and are in the process of bringing it out of the 1970's, just wanted to do a quick fix on our front door to hold us over until we buy a new one .
Here is another view , showing the ugly green color . Sorry , it's shown from the inside .
This was a really quick and easy fix ! I bought rustoleum hammered bronze spray paint , & painters tape .
My husband took the door out and layed it on my drop cloth , I did this outside. I taped the windows and around the door knob . After I took this picture , I decided to take out the lock and door knob ! I knew we were going to change the them soon, and didn't want to possibly have unpainted areas .
Next , I did a coat of spray paint , let it dry and then did a second coat . I used a textured spray paint , it didn't look as textured as shown on the cap , but I was happy with it .
Next my husband re hung the door. That was it ! Nice and easy , it is amazing what a difference a $6 can of spray paint can do !!!
A few weeks later we changed the lock and door knob .
So much better than the old look !!!

Looks amazing. Great color. And a full view storm door brings to the present.

I think I got 2 cans of the same paint for the same kind of front door. My poor metal door is really battered so I need to sand it really good before painting. I want to remove the glass and paint the trim flat black. Then paint the storm door the same black. Wish I could either find or make something like a kick plate for where keys scratch the door around the locks. Thanks for showing how the color looks. It will improve my home.
