1. Selecting the Perfect Outdoor Carpet

First things first, head to your nearest store and pick up a cute outdoor carpet.

Choose a size and design that complements your outdoor space and provides the level of privacy you're looking for.

Opt for a durable material that can withstand outdoor conditions for long-lasting privacy.

2. Find The Right Position For the Carpet

I found myself in a situation where my chain link fence left a lot to be desired in terms of privacy.

So, I strategically positioned the rug to cover the parts of the fence that needed ample coverage, ensuring that it blocked the view from prying eyes.

3. Securing with Zip Ties

Carefully separate the weave of the carpet to create a gap.

Budget-friendly privacy solution

Take your zip ties and thread them through the gap, securing it to the fence.

I started by placing zip ties at the top center and then moved on to the corners and sides.

Securing the bottom of the rug to the fence with cable ties

I opted to roll the carpet at the bottom of the fence, allowing for easy relocation in the future. However, feel free to trim any excess rug if desired.

4. Trimming and Finishing Touches

With the carpet securely attached to the fence, it's time to trim off any excess zip tie ends using scissors.

Make sure to trim them close to the knot for a neat finish.

Once all the zip tie ends are trimmed, step back and admire your handiwork!

Won't the rolled up carpet at the bottom of the fence rot when it rains and gets wet???

The gaps left are sending my OCD into overdrive!! WHY leave so much open, and only cover one area?? Plus, you can easily trim the bottom, leaving the extra part just rolled up that way? But why?

The last thing the world needs is more plastic. This rug is plastic. I bet you could achieve the same effect with one of those Wooden or bamboo blinds, which would last a long time and not put more plastic in the environment.

I went to Lowes and got a Leafy roll of greenery in the garden area. It happened to be on sale at the time and I fasented it with zip ties to my chain Link fence for privacy. It worked great, so I cut a piece to coever the fence area around my trash can so it is not visible to the street. They both look good. Very little time involved. I just cut the greenery to the length I needed and fastened it up. Just a thought for you all maybe.
