The Secret to Pulling Off the Vintage Industrial Look in Your Home

Love the vintage industrial look, but not quite sure how to make it work in your home? It's easier than you think. You don't have to buy everything that has a gear on it, or tons of exposed wood, or even cool metal piping. This one simple trick will get you on the right track.
To get the look, without going overboard, consider starting with your lights. Adding an industrial-looking light here and there gives you a touch of vintage style right where you need it.
Lights are a great way to boost your home's style because they have so many possibilities for design detail, and everyone needs lights!
So take something that you have to have, such as a pendant light over your kitchen workspace, and make it work for your style too.
When you're using a vintage industrial style light fixture, be sure to grab an Edison bulb to go in it. Edison bulbs, with the exposed filament, really complete the look.
Task lighting, pendant lighting, chandeliers - all can be the perfect spot to inject a shot of style into your home, without having to change all your colors, furniture, and accessories. (These lights and photos are all courtesy of ParrotUncle.com.)
