If you have a garden you probably know the joys and pains of having a great harvest. Those green beans all mature at once and it requires hours of back breaking work to get from the garden to the freezer. It's worth it though! Here's my guide on how to freeze green beans to eat all year long!
Bend and pick! (A take on the bend and snap - right Legally Blonde lovers?!)
Break the ends off the beans. Then break the bean in half.
Toss the tips of the bean into one side of the sink (to be composted) and the other, edible ends into soapy water.
Boil the beans for 2 minutes.
Transfer the beans into an ice bath for 2 minutes.
Ice bath.
Dry the beans on a towel.
Package the beans into plastic freezer bags.
