DIY Fireplace Update

I always knew we would want to add a fireplace to our new home. Instead of installing a gas one, we simple bought one from Home Depot: the Granville Electric Fireplace in Antique White with Faux Stone Surround. I loved the price and of course, the fact that you can show a flaming fire without any heat output. This way, I could even enjoy the coziness of this fireplace during the warmer weather. Here's what it looked like when we were done with our updates!
Here's what it looked like originally. That wood is an antique white- a very creamy, off-white color. And that brown "faux stone" was not that attractive. I knew we could make that look better.
Here are the tiles I picked out from Home Depot. I love the blues and mosaic rectangles!
